Re: Is not too late to start law school at 40?
Posted by Fred, dourfred@shu.edu, on 11/18/03

I am in the middle of my first semester of law school at 41!
It is not impossible. I'm married, 2 kids and a dog. You
ABSOLUTELY need the support of those at home, however.
Personally, after 17 years of engineering experience, it is
refreshing to go back to school for a non-technical course of
study, but still using the same analytical skills that got me
    through engineering.
I am a Patent Agent and looking for work more closely related
to my intended field. The jobs are out there but not easy to
get. I've found that there are not many recruiting firms
    that handle agents.
Don't worry about age. Most will be younger, but some will
be older, too! As Sachel Paige said, "Age is a mind over
matter. If you don't mind, age doesn't matter." In many
ways,I think I'm in a better position fro success in law
school now than 15 years ago - more focused, better stamina,
    different outlook on many things.
    Good Luck in your decision.
