Re: How To Effectively Begin Research

Dear Slice,
Sorry your message has been on the board so long and that
no one has responded to your question. The first thing I
would recommend you to do would be to go to your standard
search engine and type in LAW and look for Cornell Law
School's on line law library. I am sure it has California
statues there. There is probably much more to it than I even
realize. Also, in your home town there may be a public law
library where you can go and do research. The Clerk of your
state District Court would know about such a law library.
There may be a law school nearby where you can go and use the
law library there. There may even be a non-law school
college with a law library, or a good collection of law
books. Some libraries will even let you log on to their
computers which can access Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis, and such.
The more you research, the smarter you will become and the
better of a legal researcher you will become. Legal research
does not take a rocket scientist to do it. Researching law
can be fun at times, especially if one is not fighting
against a deadline. Best of luck!
Sincerely,
Hardy Parkerson, Atty.
